Intro to Philosophy

Course Description

This course is concerned with the basic question ‘What is philosophy?’ and aims to answer that question by engaging in the practice of philosophy. Topics to be considered include: external world skepticism; the difference between minds and computers; examining the nature of scientific knowledge; and questions about the good life. Attention and emphasis will be placed on the methods, techniques, and skills that are of use to the philosopher, and more generally the critical thinker.
